How to set it up in Gemini

Four steps, once.

  1. Download SKILL.md from your download page. Don't change the file name.
  2. Open Gemini, click Settings (the gear next to your name at the bottom left) and choose Skills.
  3. Click Upload skill, choose the file SKILL.md and click Open. Check the details and click Create.
  4. Open a new chat and ask something about your work. You can also type / and choose your skill.

Can't get the upload to work? A skill needs a personal Google account, aged 18 or over, with Keep Activity on. If that isn't possible, paste the short version in parts into Settings, then Personal context, then Your instructions for Gemini. Those steps are on your download page too.

What to expect, and what not to

Gemini follows your second brain, but it is still an AI. Always check important texts such as quotes yourself. If you choose the short version in parts, your clients, projects and details aren't in it. You give those yourself in the conversation. Gemini sometimes saves the parts in its own words, so check after saving that the facts are still correct.

What is a skill?

A file with knowledge and instructions that Gemini keeps for you. Gemini uses it automatically when your question calls for it. You can also call it up yourself: type / and choose your skill.

Why is the short version in parts?

Gemini takes at most 1,500 characters per instruction. That's why the short version on your download page comes in parts of that length. You paste them one by one.

Can I change my second brain later?

Yes. After a refresh you download the new SKILL.md, open your skill, click More and choose Replace skill. If you use the parts, you replace them with the new text.

Can I put my second brain in another AI too?
